Timeline of the Review, Areas to Review, Format of the Review
Timeline of the Review – We hope all reviews will be completed by the end of April. However, the date can be extended if you need more time.
Areas to Review – Please feel free to pick and choose which area you’d like to review. The textbook is broken into five units that include:
- 1. Earthwork (not including foundations and retaining walls),
- 2. Storm water drainage systems,
- 3. Bases and subbases, pavements, and miscellaneous construction,
- 4. Foundations, and retaining walls
- 5. Structural concrete, structural steel, and timber structures
Format of the Review – All five units have several interactive and engaging content. Some of the interactive and engaging content include, and are not limited to, construction equipment production rate calculators, applications for simulating work planning and cost estimating, applications for simulating daily cost analysis, and a chart for simulating production trend. In addition, there are numerous interactive and engaging H5P content. With today’s technology, we can write a textbook with the level of interactive and engaging content needed in today’s learning environment, especially with our attention spans shrinking, so we designed this textbook as an interactive and engaging webbook.
Reviewers will use the Webbook Reviewer’s Form to capture what they think about several aspects of the textbook. The form also has a section to allow for general or specific comments. In addition, it will enable the reviewers to upload any review notes they may have captured. The review form can be completed separately for each unit or a combination of units. A reviewer can choose to do a high-level or in-depth review, and capture their feedback with the reviewer’s form.

We’d like to ask all reviewers to familiarize themselves with the webbook reviewer’s form before starting the review. In addition, we would like the reviewers to read through the preface first to understand why we chose to work on this project.
Finally, please be patient and forgiving as the final proofreading of the textbook is scheduled right after we update the textbook with the review comments, ideas, and suggestions.
Your review comments, ideas, and suggestions are invaluable. We thank you for your time, and we are honored that you agreed to review units of the textbook before it is officially published.
Thank you!
